SANGER: RANDY TRAVIS JAILED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION
In the city of Sanger, a famed country singer has been arrested and after wards have been jailed for being publicly intoxicated. Randy Travis, who was spotted in front of the First Baptist Church in Sanger has been charged of ‘suspicion of public intoxication‘. Travis was inside his black Pontiac, 1998 model, when a police officer has spotted the car and was kind of suspicious about having it parked in front of the church. And as the police officer approached the car, to his surprise the person inside was not a strange person to him. The officer recognized smell of alcohol coming from inside of the car and also have noticed a bottle of wine near the driver’s seat.
And so, as he talked to Travis, he noticed that the country singer has been talking sluggish the longer he talked to him. As the officer said in a statement, he said: “Mr. Travis was unaware of his location and kept asking me to take him home”. Travis was brought into Denton County jail and was checked in at 1:30 a.m., Monday. The County Sheriff Tom Reedy though explained to Travis why he has been brought to the county jail, he said: “They take you to jail for at least four hours, time to sober up”. Randy Travis has been cited for a Class C misdemeanor.
On the other hand, as the singer became sober, Randy Travis has released a statement regarding the matter, he said: “I apoligize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating Super Bowl. I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.” The statement was brought to by a publicist on same day, Monday afternoon. (www.nbcdfw.com)
