Death toll in the italian Cruise Ship disaster increases to five: divers have seen two dead bodies in the submerged part of the Concordia cruise ship. The bodies belong to two elderly men who still wear their life jackets. 17 missing, 11 passengers and 6 crew members.
Investigations are still in progress: italian officers are trying to understand if the ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino, wanted to run “the bow”, a particular maneuver which consists of passing the cruise ship near a harbor and greet with the siren the people on the docs.
According to the last news the alarm from the italian cruise ship was launched around the 10.42 pm and 2.43 pm. However the impact with the rock occurred about an hour before. The ship was just 150 meters from the shore. An very short distance. Divers are still working in these minutes in the hope of finding any more survivors still trapped inside the cruise ship.
